American Furniture

Early American furniture is not broadly collected in Dallas, but 19th century American furniture is very popular and is well-represented in museums and private collections in Dallas.

Mr. Bowman was privileged to restore the famous Rosedown bed for the Dallas Museum of Art. This is considered the most important example of American gothic furniture produced in mid 19th century by Crawford Riddell from Philadelphia.

Another gothic rosewood bed and a number of other important pieces of furniture have emerged in Dallas have been restored at Alton Bowman Studio and are pictured here.
